![]() Many people never ever get the camo pattern and the uniform right. Multicam is a pattern, MARPAT, Scorpion W2 which the Army is changing to next summer. The pattern is crap ask the guys who have been to Afghanistan they will tell you UCP is crap there. UCP is the camo pattern not the uniform name. Over think it? I am not I choose Marpat or ACU but not multicamĪCU is the uniform not the pattern. If I had to pick one pattern to do it all it would be ACU/UCP then desert Marpat. I works pretty good in areas that look like it but over all its nothing to write home about. Multicam only blend in if there was enough light on it, on other angles other then directly facing the sun it looked way too dark for open field. In my test and they have been extensive camo like desert marpat and ACU look light and weird up close but at distance disappear. I'm actually interested in some ruski camouflage: ATACS FG is decent too but it stands out like Multicam because it is mostly tan. MARPAT looks good blended and faded, so does the classic woodland. Multicam fades to become very light, fairly fast. When doing my own tests I did notice that my eyes picked up the lighter camo a lot more easily, even easier than the dark MARPAT in a light environment. At a distance it appears dark green/brown. Otherwise when I'm in the redwoods or plain woods in the hills digital woodland works wonders. acu seems great in urban environments and if you are around rock/stone… it blends perfectly.Theoretically I would use multicam in the lighter more open areas because at a distance it appears to be a very light green. Fresh woodland is usually too dark especially with the patches of black in it. I believe I commented in another thread that the reason I like Multicam so much is that it is very close to the color of faded woodland BDU’s. The Army claims its different, but honestly you gotta have a sharp eye and OCD to tell the difference. When the Army and Cyre Associates couldnt make an agreement over licensing for Multicam, the Army just pulled out the Scorpion pattern for vendors to make. Same tests that gave us the travesty known as ACUs. What’s the difference between Multicam and Multicam Scorpion? or keep checking the for sale section on this board and other gun boards for marines selling of their gear. acu seems great in urban environments and if you are around rock/stone… it blends perfectly. A while back, I had the chance to see two Marines, side by side, coming out of Walmart.įresh woodland is usually too dark especially with the patches of black in it. ![]() If you’ll notice, there are some patterns that look like U’s in it. Multicam, however, is more of a Tan AND it has vertical segments in it as well. Rather than large patches of colors, they’re much smaller.
